Guest Speaker Karen Barefoot
Karen earned the recognition of becoming the 1st male or female basketball player to record 2,000 points and 1,000 assists in a career for any NCAA division. Began coaching career at the age of 22 and am a proven winner that has made history in starting a program, resurrecting programs, winning championships which includes winning a national championship. A nationally known women’s basketball coach who has built successful programs at five different institutions on and off the court by producing success in the classroom and in the community. Throughout a 27-year coaching career, she was a part of 20 winning seasons and holds an overall coaching 440 wins and head coaching wins at 363. Known as the lady of FIRSTS, leaving footprints and achieving things that have yet to be accomplished. In August Joined IRR team as the Director of Organizational Effectiveness for Industrial Reliability and Repair .
